In Venezuela they celebrate Independence Day on July 5th. This is the day when the country became free.

In 1811 Simon BolĖvar, together with Antonio de Sucre, the patriots and the students fought against the Spaniards so that the people of Venezuela could be independent of Spain and have their own country.
